Vacation Rental Tips: Bathrooms Part 4

Of all the rooms in a vacation rental, the bathrooms are probably the most used. I'm going to share some of the things the hosts we clean for typically include. If you choose to click on and purchase an item from our Amazon link, we may get a little something. Regardless, thanks for reading!

As a vacation rental cleaner, I am used to our hosts providing shampoo, conditioner, a small bar of soap & hand soap in the bathrooms. When we went on our vacation this summer, those items weren't provided. After traveling most of the day to get to our destination, not being able to freshen up without a trip to purchase those items was a little frustrating. Not a game changer, but a bit of a bummer for sure. There are a few ways you can provide these items for your guests. My favorites are the large Shampoo & Conditioner bottles that are uniform in size and color. Another option is small sample size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion & a small bar of soap.

A hairdryer is another must-have for your vacation rental bathrooms. A little bag keeps it tidy under the sink or in a drawer.

As a cleaner, waiting for all the towels to dry that have been used by the guests is probably my biggest frustration. But as a guest, I know how wonderful it is to have plenty of towels, hand towels and wash cloths available. How you choose to provide them for your guests can take many forms, but however you choose to display the towels, be sure that each guests has what they need. Gray towels are my favorite as they seem to stay cleaner longer. White ones look nice at first, but take extra care to keep them looking fresh and bright. If you have a pool on your property, be sure to provide beach towels, possibly in a basket near the back door for ease of use.

To help keep your towels looking fresh longer, providing black make-up wash cloths helps so much! You can either go with just black cloths or these cute ones that have "Make-up" embroidered on them!

You'll also want to place a small trash can, a plunger & a toilet brush next to the toilet and at least 3 extra rolls of toilet paper under the sink. We like to add special touches to the toilet paper depending on the season, or decor of the room. A cute boat works well for nautical themes, or a stamped heart or flower are all nice touches that let your guests know you care. If you don't want to get all fancy, you could simply fold the end into a triangle, it looks much better than a ragged edge.
